You choose what to share. Only files you select are uploaded. Charms does not scan your computer or read raw RAM. Uploaded originals are stored in your cloud account. When background learning is enabled, OpenAI processes saved text and supported images. Document and media originals are kept without automatic reading. You can choose to send a supported document or recording to OpenAI, review its text or speech transcript, and save it for learning. Other formats keep the original file; add your own notes for learning. Music meaning and video visuals are not analysed.

Background learning
Loading…When you enable learning, OpenAI processes existing and new saved text and supported images. Document and media originals are not read automatically. You can separately allow a reading or speech transcript, review it, and save that text for learning. Other files need your notes. Your original files remain in your private account.
Pause stops new requests. A request already running may finish, and completed knowledge is kept. This builds a persistent personal profile; it does not train separate model weights.
Remember conversations
OffNew messages you send are saved privately as memories, one star per message, and learned from in the background. AI replies are not saved as facts about you. Turning this on also enables background learning for this galaxy.
Off by default. You can turn it off at any time; saved messages remain editable and deletable in your galaxy.

Your cloud library Records and uploaded files belong to your signed-in account. AI requests send selected context to OpenAI. Enabling background learning also allows ongoing analysis of saved memories and photos. This cloud library is separate from your earlier local PC library; automatic synchronization is not included.
